General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area. It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU and EEA.
This practice holds medical records containing data which is strictly confidential. We as a practice will comply with General Data Protection Regulations which comes into effect on the 25th May 2018. This has been designed to update existing data protection legislation. Its main aim is to unify data privacy and security. The General Data Protection Regulations ensure that we as a practice keep and maintain up-to-date records of the data flows from our practice to healthcare professionals involved in your healthcare. Please be assured that we will continue to actively request consent from you on all occasions where others request access to your clinical record. We have robust data protection policies and procedures in place. Please go to the More Information section and click on the downloads where you will find the 'privacy notices' for patients in this section of the practice website.
